About My Practice

My philosophy of the practice of medicine is to treat each patient with empathy, dignity, and respect.  This involves listening first, which I have heard is a lost art in medicine.  I strive to understand a patient’s hopes, fears, and expectations before designing an individualized diagnostic and treatment plan.   My patients take an active role in deciding among management options, as I strongly believe in a patient’s autonomy and decision-making authority.  Ultimately, my guiding principle is to treat each patient as I would want a member of my own family to be treated.

“I see many types of patients, and have an interest in minimally invasive techniques for the management of both benign and malignant urologic conditions.  To give back to the community, I also devote time to urological cancer support groups, and serve on several elected committees within our local hospitals.”
